Allegations that Swap Meet Operators run Scam at
Valley View Swap Meet, and La Mirada Swap Meet, etc
Newport Development manages multiple Swap Meets, including the Valley View Swap Meet weekends at Cypress College, and the La Mirada Swap Meet.
Allegations of previous Vendors are that they have set up a Scam of unreasonable requirements to force Vendors out of their spaces to sell the space rental for $10,000 or more.
Some allege that, as a Vendor, in the Lifetime during which you have your space, if you are late 3 times, even a minute after 7:30am, you lose your space and they sell it at auction, often for $10,000 or more.
They allege that some spaces have sold for over $20,000.
They allege some spaces are sold multiple times per year.
If true, it's a great money-making operation for Newport Development, but the method used for kicking out the tenants is unreasonable.
If you have been scammed by them and lost your space, contact us at (562)867-3230 for a potential class-action lawsuit.
Cypress College, part of North Orange County Community College District, should be alerted if there is a scam, and Vendors should be recompensated for the harsh, unreasonable methods being used to rake in money at auction at the expense of the Vendors.
